Nepali actress Niruta has announced her marriage to Sanjeev Gulati in a private ceremony held in Mumbai. Sharing a photo with her husband she had told that the marriage ceremony was held on August 31, 2023.

In a statement she posted in social media, she has told that the most sought after question “When will Niruta get married?” has been answered.

She has promised to visit Nepal with her husband in near future.

Originally from Darjeeling, India, Niruta was introduced in Nepali film industry by the noted director, Tulsi Ghimire in the 1993 movie ‘Dakshina’. The success of the movie and that followed helped her to get the one of the top actresses in the Nepali film industry.

Tulsi Ghimire had been a friend of Niruta’s father. He had to convince her father to let the young Niruta to act in Nepali movies. Niruta’s father was skeptical in the beginning to let Niruta to act with other directors except Tulsi Ghimire. The success of another Tulsi Ghimire’s film ‘Darpan Chhaya’ helped Niruta to become the Number One actress of the film industry. The movie proved was a huge blockbuster grossing Rs. 70 million in 2001, the highest collection of any Nepali movie till then.

In addition to being an actress, Niruata is also a good singer. She has also released a solo music album titled ‘Deepshikha’. Niruta took a break in acting in 2008 and went to Mumbai to work in interior designing. She briefly returned to the industry again in 2010. She took a decade long break after that and returned back to Nepali film industry in 2020s – She was featured in leading role in ‘Dal Bhat Tarkari’, a MaHa film.
