Rekha Thapa in social work
In addition to politics, Rekha had also started Rekha Thapa Foundation – a non-government organization to work in social sector. She also adopted four Raute children and kept in an institution. She used the kids for the photo opportunity and then ignored them completely. The parents of the kids later took their kids with them.
For controversies’ sake, she also kissed a Raute guy.
The social works and social commitments of Rekha Thapa had been short-lived. Like the children she started supporting, she had also promised to offer roles to two rape victims – Pooja Bohara and Pooja Karki. The promise wasn’t fulfilled.
